Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Glavic Clinic

We specialize in restoring, minimizing, or compensating for functional deficits resulting from severe disabilities.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) intersects with cutting-edge technology in the realm of robotic neurorehabilitation, offering innovative solutions to enhance functional recovery for individuals with severe disabilities.

What is PM&R?

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as PM&R, is a multidisciplinary medical field focused on improving function, mobility and independence in patients with disabilities caused by neurological, musculoskeletal or other medical conditions.

Whether you are recovering from a stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury or living with a chronic condition such as multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy, the goal of PM&R is to help you achieve the highest possible level of functioning and daily independence.

Medical assessment and rehabilitation planning

The PM&R process begins with a detailed medical and functional assessment. This includes evaluating movement, strength, balance, coordination, mobility, walking ability, endurance and the patient’s ability to perform daily activities.

Based on this assessment, the rehabilitation plan is created according to the patient’s diagnosis, current functional level, medical condition and recovery goals. This allows therapy to be structured, realistic and adapted to the patient’s actual needs.

Function, mobility and daily independence

The purpose of PM&R is not only to reduce symptoms, but to improve how the patient functions in everyday life. Rehabilitation may focus on regaining mobility, improving stability, increasing strength, supporting safer movement and helping the patient become more independent in daily activities.

For patients with complex neurological conditions, this approach is especially important because recovery often requires coordinated work across multiple areas, including movement, balance, coordination, posture and functional task training.

PM&R within robotic neurorehabilitation

Robotic neurorehabilitation combines advanced robotic technology with rehabilitation techniques to provide targeted therapy for neurological conditions that affect mobility and function.

At Glavic Clinic, robotic-assisted rehabilitation may be included as part of an individual treatment plan for patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and other neurological disorders.

Coordination with therapy and specialist teams

Our PM&R specialists work closely with robotics experts and other rehabilitation professionals to design personalized rehabilitation programs that use the precision, repetition and adaptability of robotic devices when appropriate.

This coordinated approach allows the rehabilitation team to combine medical assessment, conventional therapy, robotic-assisted exercises and functional training into one structured treatment plan.

Tracking progress through functional goals

Through robotic-assisted therapy, patients can perform repetitive, task-specific exercises that may support motor learning, neural reorganization and functional independence.

Progress is tracked through functional goals such as improved walking ability, better balance, greater control of movement, increased strength, improved dexterity or greater independence in daily activities.

By combining the expertise of the PM&R team with the capabilities of robotic neurorehabilitation, Glavic Clinic aims to maximize recovery potential and improve quality of life for people with significant functional limitations.

Different approach, better results – are you ready?

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Glavic Clinic is focused on the patient’s real function, long-term goals and daily independence. Through specialist assessment, multidisciplinary work and advanced rehabilitation technology, each patient receives a plan adapted to their condition, abilities and progress.

If you are recovering from a neurological injury, living with a chronic condition or experiencing limitations in mobility and daily function, a specialist PM&R assessment can be the first step toward a clearer and more effective rehabilitation plan.
