“It takes courage to choose hope over fear,” and our dear Smiljka did exactly that, after years of brave fight with a difficult diagnosis, primarily progressive multiple sclerosis.
Despite the severe diagnosis, which usually infers not very optimistic expectations and forecasts, Smiljka decided to turn her back on them and fight against the “disease with thousand faces“.
When she arrived at the Glavic Clinic, Smiljka struggled on a daily basis with progressive pain and tightness in her left leg, causing her unsafe walk and fear of falling, which eventually made her be dependent of walking aid.
However, thanks to her unbreakable desire of getting better and her persistence together with hours that she spent exercising on various robotic devices following the GLARTH concept, symptoms and a rapid progression of this sever diagnosis started to stagnate.
Today Smiljka is independent in her daily activities and is able to walk independently, without any additional help.
A big thank you to our dear Smiljka for yet another successful story of our patients with multiple sclerosis and their brave fight proving that even the most serious diseases and prognosis can be defeated with the help of robotic rehabilitation.
With this, Glavic clinic has joined the successful results of fellow Italian specialists who have been conducting long-term research regarding the successes of robotic assisted walking therapy in patients with progressive multiple sclerosis
